Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They allow the site (or services it relies on) to remember information about your visit — such as whether you’ve already dismissed a banner or already subscribed to the newsletter. Some “cookies” we describe here are technically similar technologies like local storage or pixels; we treat them all under this policy for clarity.

2. Why we use them

We use a small number of cookies, grouped into three purposes:

  • Essential — needed for the site to function and stay secure. These include things like load balancing, bot management, and remembering your cookie consent choice.
  • Analytics — help us understand, in aggregate, which articles are useful, where readers come from, and how the site performs. We use these to improve our editorial coverage and structure.
  • Newsletter platform — remember whether you’ve already subscribed, so we don’t show you signup prompts repeatedly or create duplicate signups.

We do not use advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not run ad networks, and we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Your choices

You have several ways to control cookies on AIsecurityPlatform.com:

  • Cookie consent banner — on your first visit, a banner asks for your preferences on non-essential cookies. Essential cookies are set regardless because the site cannot function without them.
  • Cookie Preferences link — you can change your preferences any time by clicking “Cookie Preferences” in the site footer.
  • Browser settings — every modern browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies. The instructions differ by browser:
  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy.
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
  • Opt out of Google Analytics — install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent GA data from being sent for your visits.

Blocking essential cookies (such as the bot management or consent cookies) may break parts of the site, including the consent banner itself.

5. Do Not Track signals

Most browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. Because there is no agreed-upon industry standard for how sites should respond to DNT signals, AIsecurityPlatform.com does not currently change its behavior in response to DNT. You can still opt out of non-essential cookies through the cookie consent banner and footer preferences link described above.

We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where applicable as an opt-out of “sale” or “share” of personal information under California law — although, as noted in our Privacy Policy, we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. Third-party cookies

Some cookies listed in the table above are set by third parties (Google Analytics, Cloudflare, and the newsletter platform) when you use the site. Those providers process information under their own privacy policies in addition to ours. We do not control how those providers use cookies once they are set, beyond the configuration choices we make in their dashboards.

Links to provider policies:

  • Google Analytics — see Google’s privacy and terms documentation.
  • Cloudflare — see Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
  • Newsletter platform — link to be added once provider is selected.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our providers, technologies, or applicable laws change. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Material changes will be announced via newsletter or a site banner for a reasonable period.

8. More information

For our broader data practices — including what personal information we collect, how we use it, how long we retain it, and what rights you have — see our Privacy Policy. For the rules governing your use of the site, see our Terms of Use.
